lifeinpoetry's review against another edition

This was a collection after my own heart. The second I heard of its existence via GR when Jenny (Reading Envy) reviewed it I knew I had to read it. Lyrical poems on nature and self-harm from a feminine perspective. Yes, please!
The self-harm details in this book felt so familiar. They lacked the drama of a new experience with it, instead had the calmer feel of years of experience.
These poems are also deeply sensual. Nature fit perfectly into the romance, the violence, the self-harm. I usually have a troubled relationship with nature poetry but the darker aspects and the flow of the poems held my attention completely.
In short, I loved this collection.
