I hate the whole „oh she was plain before but now she had a makeover and suddenly she’s sooo sexy“ trope. Shows how shallow the male lead is. He also acted like a gross jerk. Not for me

Enjoyable

This was a solid start to a new series. You sort of get an idea who the future main characters are going to be. I enjoyed meeting Lincoln and Eden and seeing their relationship grow. I thought there were a few things that were glossed over too quickly. Despite that, I’m looking forward to reading more about this town and the people who live there.

This book sucked me in and I devoured it in a matter of hours. I fell in love with the characters, the town and it's residents. I also rather enjoyed Eden and Lincoln and their romance. And let's not forget the true heart of the story - Rocky!

However, my issue with this story is the drama. I didn't realize there was going to be a "suspense" aspect of this book and I thought it was a bit over the top, especially at the end. I understand why the author chose to do that, given Lincoln's job/business, but still.

I will pick up the second book though, for sure! I can't wait to meet this Tempie we have heard about. There also better be books for Nona, Gypsy and Rory too!

I absolutely adored this new small town romance in a whole new wonderful series by Jessica Prince. Eden and Lincoln were a great introduction to this amazing town and I can’t wait to learn more about the secondary characters and the stories they have.

After reading some of Jessica Prince’s more recent releases I wanted to go back to where those all began, and I was not disappointed. This book was a great start to the Hope Valley series. There were so many Easter eggs and hints about future couples while still keeping the focus on Eden and Lincoln.

I loved the progression of Lincoln and Eden’s relationship. They went from neighbors to lovers quickly, but it was the way Eden carried herself that really changed. She wanted a new life in Hope Valley and set about achieving that. Lincoln caught on to the fact he had been missing what was right in front of him and although there were a few bumps, he never strayed.

There was a lot of build up with the suspense in this book. And it all came to a head in the most intense way. I thought it was carried out well and gave the book an extra layer of excitement.

I loved this book. It was a great series starter and a great plot. Eden found the home she’d always dreamed of and she and Lincoln had a great HEA.

Lincoln Sheppard moves to Hope Valley after retiring from the Marines. He follows one of his “brothers-in-arms” and starts a security company. Linc is not looking for forever in any of the women he hooks up with. He is just looking for some fun and no-commitment.

Eden Brenner finally found her “Forever Town”. She moves to Hope Valley to escape the horrible childhood that she hopes to leave far, far, behind her and live a peaceful, fulfilling life.

Hope Valley is a quiet, peaceful town until a string of robberies start plaguing the small town. The only suspect they have is Eden’s older brother. Linc is asked to get close to Eden and see if she is connected to the case. While he starts to get close to her, he starts to fall for her smile and see that she brings light into his life. Eden finds out that Linc was asked to get close to her to find out about her brother, she dumps him, FAST. Can Lincoln convince her that it may have started out as fake but turned real FAST? Can Lincoln keep her safe from the mess he brother got into?

I enjoyed the start of this new series. While I agree with some of the reviews that Lincoln was an ass and a manwhore and that Eden too easily fell in love with someone out of her league, but I feel that Jessica Prince did give Eden a backbone. As a healthy sized girl (someone who ran between 10-14 sizes), I understand where Eden’s thoughts came from. I too have fantasized about the hot guy who got all the “skinny” women. Yes, Lincoln was portrayed as a manwhore who didn’t notice Eden until she was right there in front of his face. But I hate to say it, most men don’t notice things until it is right in their face and even then they don’t. I like how Jessica Prince made her characters very, very, real. I look forward to reading the stories of the other people in town.

OMG this story!! I'm ALWAYS invested in this author's stories, but this one took it up a notch! Eden was wonderful. A mix of self conscious and bad ass, I think she's probably my new favorite heroine! Eden gains friends and confidence as the story progresses, and I'm not sure if I've loved a set of secondary characters as much as I loved these. Nona and Gypsy were great, and I sincerely hope they get HEAs in the upcoming series. I had mixed feelings about Lincoln. I knew once the favor was asked how that was going to play out, and it made me like him a little less. As the story progressed though, his true feelings came to light, and he and Eden made a great couple. I LOVE an alpha who takes care of his, and Linc does that. The whole mess with Eden's family, in particular her brother was heart breaking. It made me love Eden even more to see what she had overcome, and still be a good person. I CAN NOT wait to read the rest of this series. There are so many people that I'm looking forward to getting their HEAs!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Overall, I really enjoyed Out of My League! It started out relatively slow for me, but I found that I could relate with Eden right from the beginning. I liked how strong she was, how she worked how to separate herself from her dysfunctional family, and that while she didn't have the best self-esteem, she was comfortable with her own character. Lincoln wasn't a character that I particularly cared for at the beginning of the story- he was a bit egotistical for my liking- but I respected his growth as his story with Eden progressed.

I will most definitely continue reading books in Jessica Prince's Hope Valley series!
