Mental.

This is the second book I've read by Stephen King (I read Misery also) .... This will not be my last. Let me quickly put all Stephen King's books on my tbr.

I didn't expect vampires to freak me out as much as they did. Very glad I read this book in day light hours. If I read this right before bed, I fear I may have not slept well.

I loved some of the lines in this book. I felt myself reaching for tabs a lot!l! There was so many lines that gave me chills. Honestly King is the king of incredible descriptions and dialogue.

One of the things I loved the most was the way he described fear throughout the book. It made fear almost feel alive and animalistic, especially with how it was a constant instinct the fear, which gave the book that eery feel throughout even when nothing had happened.

I went into this book completely blind, and so glad I did. I did not expect for what happened to each character to play out how it did

I loved my girl, Susan. I was shook!

I absolutely loved the ending and felt it wrapped up really well. It has kept me thinking of the book since finishing.

I will be having the image of Jimmy forever, I fear.

This is a chunky book (700+ pages] yet I devoured it in 3 days. If this isn't the sign to put this book on your tbr. I don't know what is

This book although was slow, with the build up of all the town's background characters, really made me want to keep reading. Every time I put the book down, I wanted to immediately pick it back up again.

Would definitely recommend this book and will be watching the TV movie adaptation asap.

This was my very first Stephen King book, picked it out because of the cover and I didn’t want to start with one of the popular ones. I didn’t know what to expect but this wasn’t it. 

The pacing of the book starts of slow with lots of characters being introduced but the plot is not really the main focus. From halfway point the plot starts getting more important, for me this killed the vibe a bit. As I hadn’t a clue what I was reading about in the first 45% as I also didn’t read the blurb. 

The last chapters are fast paced and action packed which I really liked and this tempo reminded me of a action movie in a way. 

It didn’t really feel as a horror book for me more like a paranormal mystery thriller. As there was no movement in the book I felt the tension being built up to make the reader scared. 

Interesting read that would make me read more of his books but with a break between reading the next one as the writing style does need some energy.
