Not as good as The Girl on the Train, but worth a read, in my opinion. I don't really understand all the reviews that say there are too many characters to keep up with. There's only 10 or so; heaven forbid these reviewers attempt Game of Thrones or a similar series with characters probably numbering in the hundreds. It was a little odd having the story narrated from this many points of view. But it did serve a purpose of propelling the narrative and giving the reader more clues depending on what each character knew. The story was a bit creepy, with a film noir-ish feel to it. 3.5 stars for me.

If you're an audible listener, it's a tough one to get through with SO many characters and development. Good book but hard audible.

This book was good, don’t get me wrong. But as I listened to it, I found my self wishing it was done about 3/4 of the way through. The last quarter of the book seemed to drag on for me, and unlike the girl on the train, they were more characters/narrators to keep track of. This seems to be a theme in a lot of my reviews lately! I think when I am listening to a book instead of reading it my comprehension goes down - and likewise my ability to keep up with 6 to 7 narrators.
In Paula Hawkins’ book “the girl on the train”, I remember being shocked by the ending. The ending for “into the water” did not seem shocking to me; I felt there was a lot of foreshadowing leading up to the end.

2,8/5⭐️ I like the multitude of perspectives and that it makes you wonder who among the narrators is/ are the unreliable one(s). It is just that the plot didn’t make me care. I had hoped for more.

Messy. That's the best way to describe this book. There's too much going on. But the author did a good job in making me interested enough to keep trudging along.

Příjemně chladivá kniha, ideální přesně na takové parné dny jako byl dnešek.
