A real romp through the eccentricities of the South, from mental hospitals (private) to pseudo-antebellum mansions that come with their own aged codgers who brew moonshine, to marauding women robbing gullible men by flirting and then "pantsing" them. And somehow it all comes together for a (somewhat) happy ending.

Listened to this as a book on tape as I drove to and from Chicago. I probably would have skimmed it or abandoned it if I were reading it.

Not her best at all.
I was disappointed in the ending. Everything seemed to be rather less exciting than previously indicated. It felt forced.

Two interweaving stories. One is forensic anthropologist Elizabeth MacPherson deeply depressed and in denial about her husband's death, lost at sea. The other is her brother Bill and his law practice partner, A.P. Hill, drawn into a 'Thelma & Louise' crime spree. It doesn't sound like they could intersect, but they do, most pleasingly.
