Way, way better. I was starting to lose interest in the series. Book 2 is till my fav, this one comes close to it.

Jeff Resnick has not been the same since he was head on the head a year or so ago. He has unusual side effects from the injury. In the book the effects takes him to the limit and into a dark place. The author draws him so well I can feel his pain and I cried for him more than once.A real page turner with heart.

Very difficult read for me, authority figure that abuses power is terribly frightening when you have to place so much trust and to have it go so wrong is nightmarish.
