Extremely strong followup to Way of Kings. Fell in love with Shallan in this one. Main cast starts to really meet for the first time, and I felt their interactions were enjoyable and eal

Much more political intrigue than in the precious book. The dynamics of the world and its people are really starting to get fleshed out, and Sanderson balances politics/scheming well with danger/action, so the book never feels like the pace is slowed as a result.

Slightly more awkward dialog compared to the other books, but nothing egregious.

There were multiple points while reading this book when I was actually screaming out loud, on the edge of my seat, and crying. This is only my second 5 star book of 2024 so far.

Honor is dead... but I'll see what I can do

Things are happening !! Mwahaha 😂 the reason this doesn't get 4.5 stars is because things only picked up in the last 30% and I wish there had been a bit more plot earlier in the 1000+ page book

A great second book from the Stormlight Archive. Really enjoyed the character development over this book, and the action was tense and engaging, especially the last quarter of the book - I found it difficult to put down! Multiple POVs were not confusing, there's enough context info to figure out what's going on. Can't wait to read book 3.
