An easy read but I could guess most of the twists and turns so it wasn’t much exciting for me. The beginning of this book was very promising and I expected much more sinister into the book but that didn’t happen here.

Selena Murphy is commuting home on the train when she strikes up a conversation with a beautiful stranger in the next seat. The women introduces herself as Martha and soon confesses that she's been stuck in an affair with her boss. Selena, in turn confesses that she suspects her husband is sleeping with the nanny. When the train arrives at Selena's station, the two women part ways, presumably to never meet again.

Then the nanny disappears...

I know a lot of people likes this book, I just was not one of those people.

Lisa Unger's other book secluded cabin sleeps six, I loved that one. This one I felt had too many POV's. I did not need Oliver's POV for one chapter, I felt like that could have been left out. I think I would read another one of her books just to see if I really like this author. I thought this book was decent, but I don't think I would have DNF'd it. It was easy to read. I think the only reason I finished this book was because I was also listening to the audiobook while also having the physical book present. There were some interesting parts of the book, but then the rest was just kind of a downfall for the rest of the book. I wasn't really using the physical book, I mostly just listened to the book while colouring or cleaning. While reading this book, I honestly did not care what happened to any of the characters in this book. I heard a lot of hype over this book but it fell flat for me. I feel cheating plays a massive role in a lot of murder mysteries.

I will give another one of her books a try, just to see I feel about her and the writing that she outs into her books. Until then I do have some other books to read.

This one was just okay. I liked the story, but we were handed the plot a few too many times. I was only surprised by the twists once. The dialogue was a bit clunky and unnatural and I think this author has a vendetta against social media lol.

The characters also act in ways that’s not super believable? I didn’t find that I was rooting for anyone in this one.

picked this up off a shelf at the library - and it was very much this calibre. it was fairly interesting but very predictable, wasn’t much of a thriller in my opinion. but it was still ok, just not amazing!
