I take back most of my complaints on the first book of this series I now think the only issue is that to me they'd have worked better as one book. Or maybe you just have to read them all in one go? Some of the events overlap and this one gives a lot of context to things from the first both plot wise and in terms of relationships between characters its makes me see a lot from the first in a different light.

But anyway Justin Lazarus is wonderfully hateable and then he's despicably lovable and then he's just lovable. His character arc is the most important thing about this book I think and it was very enjoyable. Nathaniel is great and brilliant! We also get to see a bit more of Mark so I'm quite looking forward to the follow up on that although in the second one it seems that again things are already happening in parallel to the next one. I don't really enjoy that part. It's like a chapter of the book I'm reading has suddenly been taken over by a different book and not even the beginning of that book, somewhere in the early middle maybe and I have no context for characters actions at all.
