Charlotte the Scientist is back and she's ready to tackle the mysterious malady that has infected many of her woodland neighbors. She conducts patient interviews, collects samples, and even puts the sick creatures in quarantine, but she can't figure out what's causing the illness. A team of doctors arrives to investigate and ignores Charlotte's extensive research because she's just a kid. Undeterred, Charlotte continues to ponder the root of the problem. Could it be the funky-shaped carrots being sold at the farmer's market? This is an entertaining book about the scientific process and how knowledge and determination can make a huge impact, no matter how old (or young) you are. A glossary of scientific terms is included in the back.

While caving to the animals instead of diversity trope, this story pushes a female bunny to the front of an adorable story. Charlotte is supported by her family and it had a great girl power message. Plus the illustrations were really cute too. Lots of fun words to talk about with kids too. Would be great for a preschool story time.

Liked it's precursor more than this one, but still an enjoyable read.

Does what it says on the tin and quite pleasantly. Good representation of science with references to research, correlation and testing a hypothesis. THere was a slam against adult scientists but I guess that adds to the kid appeal. The adults do seem to all be morons.
