I loved this from the start. The writing style and the short chapters was pure bliss i was afraid that it was going to drag on but somehow Finn just did an amazing job with the timing. I can definitely see why they made this into a movie.

The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn

“It isn’t paranoia if it’s really happening.” 

 

I should probably say that I did watch the movie before I read the book. I also liked the book more (obviously). Knowing the outcome of the story really affected how I read the book. As I read, I looked out for foreshadowing and was only a little successful! A.J. Finn created an unreliable narrator that made me question what was going to happen even though I already know the outcome. I wanted to believe Anna’s story, but I also saw how unreliable she actually was. I got extremely frustrated with a few of the other characters, especially Detective Norelli. Norelli’s treatment of Anna was harsh and made me uncomfortable, but I understood why Finn believed it was necessary. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, but I wished that I had waited to watch the movie. 

 

I recommend this for those who love psychological thrillers.
