4 ⭐️ After binge reading this book I was going to give it five stars, but now i’m not so sure. After finishing I was in awe due to the way I could not put it down. This is not the situation for me with most books. Because of my previous knowledge about Freida McFaddens works I could easily understand where the story was going. Most of McFaddens books have very similar plot twists and the change in perspective is not unique. However, I will not deny the pure enjoyment I experienced from reading this book. Even though the writing and the storylines are often mediocre in her books, she does a great job at keeping the reader interested. This page-turner is a great thriller for someone looking for a quick, enjoyable, and jaw-dropping read, but it is not much more than that. I would say that it has a similar feeling as the book “Verity” by Colleen Hoover. Both authors have a similar writing style (one to fit teenagers from booktok since it is very simple) and both create that attention that an author desires from a reader. However, personally I would say that “Verity” remains superior. This book may not deserve four stars due to its lack of complexity, but I have decided to base this book on my initial feeling and genuine interest and based on that criteria it deserves a minimum of four stars. To end this review I would like to summarize the book in one word, and that word is “girlboss”.

Finished so quickly. Had me hooked from the start, some great twists. Although ending was slightly disappointing - SPOILER - there’s no way Nina would have gone to jail for Millie, so this should have been different. Really enjoyed every other part of it!
