Splat the cat's room is overflowing with stuff. His mom suggests they donate old items, and in the process Splat discovers a very overdue library book. What to do?!?!?! Will the librarian send him to jail or even worse, walk the plank?

My six-year old likes this series but I’m not sure he enjoys the books.

We read it but I’ve already forgotten it.

…..

I went back and skimmed through the book and I liked the opportunity to talk about donating with my kid.

Nothing too original here; my favorite part is always seeing Splat's expressions. I had the narrated Kindle version, and found the voices somewhat annoying; I even turned down the sound. And, yes, I currently have an overdue library book somewhere in my house that I cannot find.

Splat experiences some serious panic over his late library book (will they put him in jail? will they make him walk the plank???) but it all works out okay.

I read this for the "Book In A Series" part of my 2020 reading challenge. It was really cute, I liked how panicked Splat got over the library fine, and his little mugshot.

If only all library patrons turned in the old books they found in their house. Don’t worry Splat, I won't make you walk the plank.
