I absolutely love Alice in Wonderland retellings. I'm also becoming a huge fan of zombie books and by combining those two things you'd think I would be absolutely in love right? Well only kind of. I did love the second half of the book, I just found the beginning pretty boring.

There is only so much you can take when the main character doesn't really do anything. Yes, I know, her family just died, but still the book could have had a lot of the moping, doing nothing part cut out. Once she starts school it gets a little better and then when she finally joins up with Cole's group things get interesting.

The idea of teenagers going out and hunting zombies is pretty cool. The thing that really makes this story is what the zombies actually are. They aren't your typical zombies that go around eating human flesh, they're more of a spirit form. I really have never seen zombies done in this way and that really makes this book stand out.

I really wasn't a huge fan of Alice in the beginning. I got pretty bored while she moped and did nothing. As the story went on however, she turned out to be a pretty tough character who knew how to kick zombie butt. Then there's Cole, the love interest. He's tall, dark and brooding. Oh and he's major trouble. What isn't to love? He's actually pretty sweet and kind once you break through that bad boy shell of his too. One of my favorite character's was Kat. She was funny and outgoing. Spunky and outspoken. She was just an all around enjoyable character, I found myself looking forward to the parts where she made an appearance.

This is definitely a unique twist on the zombie story which I really liked. I am definitely going to be picking up the sequel when it comes out and I can't wait until the next trip into Zombieland.

The endless teen melodrama is made bearable by the entertainment value of Cole's description. Dude growls at people and he's 16.

Also the philosophy of the series is 'light is good and shadows are bad. You only need good' and that's it. I'm not Christian, this whole needing faith thing feels Christian.

This book was love at first sight for me<3! The cover was absolutely enchanting. The title did come off as a bit odd for me, but I was defiantly intrigued. This book was nothing like I thought it would be; to be honest I expected less out of it. I'm so glad that the book proved me wrong! The author did a marvelous job on the characters and the plot has such interesting twist and turns. I even shared it with a friend and we are now both obsessed with this white rabbit chronicles. This book does mostly depend on your tastes, though I do believe it ATLEAST deserve a chance!!!

I was really interested in the twist and from my friend’s raving reviews! Though unfortunately I lost interest and couldn’t bring myself to finish this book, it just didn’t live up to what I expected it to be. It seemed more of a rehash of mediocre early 2010s books instead of a creative yet dark twist on the beloved: Alice in Wonderland.

Wow! So good! The beginning was a bit slow but I suppose it was to explain everything. Then the second half took off! Zombies, bad guys, good guys, visions--oh yeah, I'm ready for book 2! But like, in a couple of days. I need to calm down!

I was pleasantly surprised how Ms. Showalter made a fresh version of the Zombie tale so enticing, dark and still humorous. I was expecting a Alice in Wonderland type fairy tale but it was not that at all. I found the first 50 pages a bit dull and almost dropped the book. But then something tugged at my interest and never let go throughout the rest of the book. I should have know better I have enjoyed many of her other works I've read.
I loved her realistic characters with their real-life flaws.the way they interacted with each other was realistic as well, no Insta-love, insta-trust, ints a-ok after a terrible event. It was a treat to able to believe in their actions.
The zombie are so evil, rotten and have some new qualities that will make anyone cringe. Throw out your preconceived notions these guys are their own kind of nasty. Omg they stink, rot !
Our heroine is not the glassy eyed sweet victim. No, Alice/Ali can kick but, slice and dice and light a fire too. She has a love interest, well maybe two but it is not the most impotent thing for her to deal with and she knows it.
I am going to keep going with this series. I really liked it.
