I tried to finish this since I was so close to the end, but I just can't do it. The plot is weak and the characters aren't believable or interesting enough to compensate. It's repetitive, dull and so full of itself. The entire book reeks of "not like other girls" pretentiousness.

This is one of my very favorites - a wonderful exploration of trends and change and assumptions and relationships

Adorable and quick yet thinky and well researched. And so cutely 90s!
Bonus points for reinforcing my irritableness towards fashion, and for the library bits.

I really liked this book! I laughed many times throughout it and I found it deeply relatable and enjoyable. There’s no action, but plenty of nerd talk and fun facts so if that’s not your thing, avoid it! The book is enter in the sense that it happens in a workplace setting and it showcases the coworker struggles and friendships, corporate issues in an almost satirical way. There’s a touch of romance, but toward the very end though there’s a slow buildup since the beginning.

Connie Willis is just so consistently fun to read. I want to use words like zany and madcap to describe her books, but in a serious way, full of praise.
