This was a decent book. It was funny, silly, and sad. I haven't decided whether I want to continue the series, but I might.

This novel sets up the series so there is some drag time. It really hooked me once the actual plot of the novel started though. I'm looking forward to reading the second book in the series.

Just not for me, but I think it would be appealing to young readers, maybe ages 8 to 10. I was highly disappointed, though, because I enjoyed The Angel Experiment so much.

This was an amazing book by an even more amazing author. The plot's interesting enough to get you into the story, and it's thrilling enough to fuel you till the end. I highly recommend this book!

Like me, my kids are all voracious readers. The other night, my teenage son asked to go to the used bookstore, saying he was out of books to read and wanted something good to add to his own growing library. While there he picked up Daniel X, and by his own later admission, paid way too much for it.

Sometimes I pick up one of my kids' books just to try to stay in touch with what they are reading. This time it was this piece of work.

It's pretty abysmal, even for a novel directed at teens. It is not really objectionable, unless you count terrible writing, minimal plot, superficial characterization, and so forth. I could see this (maybe) as a transitional reading tool for kids who have minimal reading skills -- something that might hold their interest long enough to get them used to bigger words than in a beginning reader book. Anyone else ought to be embarrassed to read it.

I asked my son what he thought of it, and his opinion was pretty much the same as mine. Too bad...I thought the concept was pretty good, and James Patterson certainly has the skill and experience to write far better material than this. I'm disappointed.

Best for 10-14 yr old boys. Easy, quick read with lots of aliens, bugs and gross outs.

Being NOT a 10-14 yr old boy, it just wasn't my cup of tea.
