Some of these are the “best” American poems of 2020/21, others fell flat for me. I wish anthologies like this would look at indie presses as well, so many amazing writers get left behind because of prestige

This is the best poetry anthology I’ve read since Billy Collin’s did 180. It feels relevant, current, diverse, accessible. I added a bunch of authors I’ve never heard of to my TBR. If you are looking for fresh, modern poetry. This is it. It was enjoyable from cover to cover.

Some outstanding poems, and some that didn’t resonate with me. Overall a good collection that was helpful in directing me to some poets to explore further.

I think like any compilation of stories or poems, there were things I loved and was moved by and some that fell flat.

sealey challenge day 6 or something ??? loved loved loved a lot of the poems in this, as far as i read, but for a sealey challenge book it wasn't the best fit - there's no way i could've read all these poems in a day especially because it's an anthology and all different author and all different styles and themes and i'd just get whiplash if i tried to read this too fast, which is what i did.
also i tried throughout the rest of the month/challenge to read a little more from it but never got very far and eventually had to return it to the library.
am definitely interested in borrowing it again and reading the rest of the poems, i also made a list of the poems i read that really spoke to me and the authors i'd like to check out so overall, i really think anthologies like this are great and a great way to expand your horizons and discover some new poets :)
