Queen song: 2.5/5
Steel scars: 5/5

I read these novellas after reading the whole Red Queen series, and maybe that’s why I didn’t really like Queen Song. I mean, it was okay, but I felt like we didn’t learn anything we didn’t already know. I found it quite repetitive and long, even though it is the shortest.

But I absolutely adored Steel Scars. We get to know Farley much more and we discover how the Scarlet Guard started working in Norta. With this novella I did feel like I was reading something new and exiting (unlike Queen Song).

Good book overall! I did not read the chapter of Glass Sword that was included in the book since I actually bought it & plan to read it at a later date. Overall, I found much more interest in the 2nd story than the 1st. It wasn't terrible although it is just short stories from the main story so I read what I was expecting.

I always enjoy some back story on characters that doesn't make it in the main books. Some times there are puzzle pieces you didn't know you were missing until you find them.
