This is a weird, quirky story that gives the reader a lot to think about. The fantastical nestles quietly and comfortably along with the normal. The normal just happens to be beautifully Russian in nature. The titular blizzard is definitely a character by itself. Reading in bed during a Chicago winter made it really easy to feel the frigid air and biting snowflakes.

The end came when it should, but I wasn't ready to let go of these travelers and I closed the book with ideas swirling in my head. It was a good ride. Life is a journey, not a destination etc etc blah blah. Long live the horses.

Also, this probably had more exclamation marks than any other book I've read.

ყურმოკვრით მქონდა გაგონილი ამ წიგნზე, შემთხვევითაც ვიყიდე და სასიამოვნოდ გაოცებულიც დავრჩი! ძალიან საინტერესო რამეა! თვითონ ამბავიც, მოყოლის სტილიც და სტილების მიქსიც მაგარია! ცოტათი [b:Кысь|2132729|Кысь|Tatyana Tolstaya|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1204332556s/2132729.jpg|3535] მომაგონა, მაგრამ ეს რომანი თუ დიდი მოთხობა (როგორაა Повесть ქართულად?) უფრო კლასიკურს აწვება. ამბობენ საროკირისგან მოკლასიკურო რამის დაწერა მაგარი მოულოდნელი იყოო, მაგრამ სხვა არაფერი მაქვს წაკითხული, ვერაფერს ვიტყვი.

გირჩევთ წიგნზე არანაირი, თუნდაც 2-წინადადებიანი, შესავალი ან აღწერა არ წაიკითხოთ - მთავარი კაიფი მოულოდნელი სურპრიზებია, რომლებიც გაფანტულია ძალიან ტონკად და ეფექტურად მთელს წიგნში.

ხუთიანს იმიტომ არ ვუწერ, რომ მთლიანი მუღამის გასაგებათ ალბათ XIX-XX საუკუნის რუსულ ლიტერატურას მაგრად უნდა ვიცნობდე, არა მარტო დოსტოევსკი-ტოლსტოის, აშკარად ბევრი გადაძახილ-გადმოძახილია სხვა მწერლებთან, რომლებსაც ისე არ ვიცნობ (ალბათ ტურგენევი, ჩეხოვი, ბუნინი, გოგოლი... პასტერნაკიცო ამბობენ).
