The opening of volume III is familiar to other superhero stories, but in true Lemire fashion, the meta narrative of stories and superheroes explodes in bold fashion as choices are made and the fate of the entire Black Hammer multiverse hangs in the balance.

Well, for starters, this volume solved a problem I had with an earlier volume, and the whole thing has taken on more scope with a direction and goal I now understand. There is such a wild, fun energy that also feels meticulous in the volumes that have followed the initial arc. It's just big, booming, and bonkers, all while being a really lovely sense of modern throwback.

Well, that was something. The multiverse gets wild and a bit meta at times, and Lucy makes quite a decision at the end. This was all kinds of twisty and weird and, well, Weird, and I enjoyed it. I'm curious to see what happens next - will the multiverses make it? Will some of them make it? Will any of them make it? Who knows?
I don't know if anyone else took this the way I did, but I enjoyed this take on multiverses in comic book worlds, it's an interesting concept. I don't really wanna say more about it because I don't want to be spoilery, but I dug this. Good stuff, Maynard!
