Whew was this a visceral book. It was written with such vivid description I felt oppressed by the Florida heat. Very strange, very sad, and surprisingly hopeful in the end. I think I never need to read about taxidermy again this might have been enough for me.

just had a hard time liking/relating to the characters to be honest. I also expected a bit more dark humor, but it was more melancholy than I expected. not a badly written book by any stretch, just not really for me.
