I have to be honest, the only reason I started this series was because I fell in love with the writing style of the Undeniable series. I new the books weren't going to be the same of course but that raw, gritty style could possible be there.

And it was. I loved everything about this book. The character development, the the pace of the story and the fact that this is one of a kind. Yes we've all read dystopia books before, but this was something different. It was strong, powerful and disturbing all in the same along with beautiful, light and funny. Strange, I know.

If you have read this one yet, please do. It's a page turned for sure. You might want to go ahead and boom 2 on standby for when you finish this one.

I can't wait for the 3rd and final installment.

What can I say….other than: Holy fucking shit.

I’ve had this book on my kindle since MARCH. I kept telling
myself that I would eventually get around to reading it, but the devil known as
Amazon 1-click, buried it underneath all of the other shit that I thought that
I HAD TO READ RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND, and here we are now.

In fucking September!

I’m ashamed to admit that it took a book discussion on the
Wild Pussy facebook group, to get me to read this book. I wanted to
participate, so naturally I busted out my ecopy of The Soul Mate, and planned
it out to where I had four days to slowly read my through it and still be able
to participate in the book discussion on Sept. 5.

Well…

I read it in one sitting.

Four glorious hours of gut wrenching, heart palpitating,
angst fest galore was what I suffered through while reading this book.

Bow down to the Queen B aka Madeline Sheehan because this
woman can do NO wrong!

I’m a HUGE fan of her Undeniable series, but I’m an even
bigger fan of this series.

Who knew, I fucking loved gypsies?!

I sure as hell didn’t until the very.first.fucking.chapter.

Swear to God, I was like: “This bitch has did it again; I’m
going to be ruined after reading this.”

And I was…or I should say I am, but I’m fixing to start book
2 of the Holy Trinity series, so my next fix is imminent.

Now what can I say about this book.

I loved the Greek mythology.

I love the Romani.

I loved Gerik.

I’m still rooting for Gerik, even though he’s
kind of fucked up looking now and has some serious emo issues. I suspect he’ll
be listening to Jimmy Eat World and wearing his hair over one of his eyes…er
horns?

And then there's Xan...

Xan is just over all kickass. He’s funny. He’s intense. And
surprisingly he’s deep. I can honestly say that I want the Holy Trinity to be
Gerik in the front and Xan in the back. That’s how much I like BOTH of these
bastards.

Now on to our heroine: Trinity.

I was just as confused and upset as she was while reading the story from her view point. I hurt for her when Gerik betrayed her. I cheered for her when she found solace with Xan.

I will openly admit that there were times that I thought she was acting a bit immature, but the truth is, she was kept in the dark about a lot of things, so home girl was allowed to have a few temper tantrums in between life altering events.

By the end of this novel I was damn proud of our Heroine. She grew up a lot during the first book and I can't wait to see how she handles her newly gifted "powers" in the next book.

So with that said...I'm stoked for book 2 in the Holy Trinity series: My Soul to Take

and...

I totally want to be a gypsy in my next life.

Yup.

I have had this book, actually the first 3 books, on my kindle for a LONG time. I am not sure what had stopped me from reading them. I have read all of the released books of Ms. Sheehan’s other series, the Undeniable series, so I know she can write her ass off. That is one of my favorite series of books. So, why did I wait to read this book? I can tell you why I think I waited. I am not typically a lover of paranormal, dystopian books. I honestly didn’t think I would enjoy gypsies, magic and skineaters. I was SO wrong. This story is told in such vivid detail, you feel like you are right there with the characters, smelling the smells, seeing the colors, feeling the fear.
This first book really sets the stage for what you are about to experience. Trinity is a “normal” girl, but has a powerful attraction to this overly confident and extremely male gypsy, Gerik. Trinity tries to fight this attraction as hard as she can. She wants to fall in love because of love and not because of some stupid, weirdly powerful, magic attraction.
I highly recommend purchasing the next two books in the series, because there is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of this book.

Interesting & different good read I finished it in half a day!
One question though: [SPOILER ALERT]
From the flash back to the AD time periods if Gerik & Trinity are suppose to be reincarnation of Emilian & Treime, when did Emilian die if he was forced to live an eternity as a vampire? There are too many information still missing I hope I get some answers in the next book!!

OMG love. I keep rereading it. The most original take on Zombies, gypsies, love triangles, and soul mates you'll ever find. (Everything else by this author is also amazing!!)

This book was awesome! It was like nothing I've ever read, and I so enjoy when I find books like that. It's one of those books that as you're reading, you're thinking, "this author is a genius" and wondering, "how can anyone come up with such a richly creative storyline full of dimensions and layers"?

The blurb for the book intrigued me and sounded good, but once I started reading, I realized it was so much better. There's the apolcalypse, there are gypsies, there are monsters, there's a haunting past that's affecting the present, and there's romance that keeps you guessing. It was so good that I didn't want to put it down and couldn't wait to start the next book in the series (which I did, immediately!)

Bleh ... I think if I rolled my eyes one more time while reading this they were going to fall out of my head. Also I was confused for a good portion, the explanations were not done well, and the characters really pissed me off. I will certainly not be continuing with this series.
