To what lengths will Squish go to be part of the cool crowd? I love how his daydreams intertwine with the themes surfacing in his real world. Daydreams are drawn in grey tones make them easy to distinguish from his real life drawn in black and green.

The Holms continue to teach science through an entertaining story of Squish the amoeba. In this fun story, while learning about the make ups of a pond, Squish also teaches about bullying and standing up for yourself.

If you haven't read the new Squish book that just came out, go read it...what are you waiting for. Once you do, you'll want to mark the second one that will be out in September. Won't review it now, but just to say a good book to kick off the new school year.

But when that means being mean to his oldest friends, Squish must decide if it's worth it. We've come to expect realistic characters and heartfelt storylines from Jennifer L. Holm & Matthew Holm and the team does not disappoint with the newest Squish title.

This was cute. A new year for Squish! I like how the comic within the comic has something to do with what is going on for Squish and helps him make a decision. And the science experiment at the end! :D
