Fun premise and interesting questions asked in the novel, but the thread gets lost by the last third. A shame. I’d still read it if you like good science fiction that’s not optimistic.

This book had been such a surprise for me. Nothing I have read has made me question my humanity or what makes a sentient being worthy of life.

Being emotional over the artificial and nasty means that one would go to survive. How you could live an entire life not realising you weren't truly living.

Questioning whether humanity will lead us to our eventual end or if we were ever destined to venture past the stars.

Following the companion bot, Brittle along her journey of self-discovery, survival, and learning what it means to be free. What a wild ride, one I will probably live through again and again...

Just couldn't get into it. Far too much exposition.

Entertaining, and at times thought-provoking, Sea of Rust ultimately doesn’t push the envelope enough. Asking big questions, Cargill doesn’t always seem as interested in the answers. However, upon completion, I was entertained, cared about the main character, and would be interested in re-visiting the world. I would love to see this adapted into a trilogy of films, tracking Issac, the War, and then the whole plot of Sea of Rust.
