Chakra The Invincible is a children’s superhero created by Stan Lee, whose adventures you can watch on ToonsTV, which you get access to with the Angry Birds games (apparently). This particular collection of short graphic novels in a single volume was part of the Free Comic Book Day in 2015, which is something else I didn’t know anything about. It’s definitely been a weekend of discovery for me so far!

Chakra the Invincible consists of:
Chakra Meets The Giantess
Chakra Meets Akram Pakram
Chakra Meets Thandai
Chakra Meets Shadow Runner and
Chakra Meets Blobby.

They are all short (only a few pages long), and are perfect for younger readers as the plots are simple to follow with no violence. Chakra is a young boy, which young readers will be able to relate to and the pictures are colourful and really make the stories. It was difficult reading this as an adult as I wanted more detail and a bit more grit, but as I say, perfect for children and to introduce them to the big wide world of superheroes.
