This wasn't the traditional romance, the ugliness of life was brought to the fore. With the dual timeline and dual POV I felt this story all over and finished it so quickly! And the other characters were so intense.

I liked this one a tiny bit better than The Flatshare. I felt it was faster paced/more interesting earlier on. Interesting premise and fairly entertaining throughout.

CW: Sexual Assault
This was a refreshing contemporary romance novel that was not too tropey or predictable. There were plenty of little surprises along the way. The book is funny but also discusses serious topics including mental health and sexual assault. The plot switches between ‘then’ and ‘now’ and the secondary character’s stories are explored well.
