I love this book. I love all of it, every awkward conversation and poignant email. I love the ways it intersects with my own best friendships, and the ways it diverges, and how both of those things make what's real and what's fictional so much more powerful.
I'm a long-time Hannah Moskowitz fan, and this is a really interesting look at fandom, and the transitions of late teens/early 20s life.
It gets dark though - but if you've read Moskowitz before that won't be a shock!

I liked the concept because I love reading about fandoms, internet friends and the like, but this book was trying to be both a) a fluffy cutesy romance and b) a deeply moving tale about unexpected events that happen in life and it JUST DIDN'T WORK for me.
I always enjoy books told in unique formats - this one wholly consists of emails, DMs, blog posts and notes between the characters and their friends. That made this a quick read, which was nice. I really liked the first half of the book that set up both characters' lives and their online friendship. I liked Gena and Finn as friends but I saw no romantic chemistry between them and thought that subplot came out of nowhere. In the second half of the story, there was way too much happening, none of it was being explained well and it was all over the place. That was where the format of the book started to fail the story because it's hard to see what's going through a character's mind. Even when they write terrible poetry.
All in all, this story had so much potential but it severely let me down. I would not recommend.

This book was NOTHING I thought it would be. I usually love books about fandom but not this one !
It made no sense... too fast friendship, too much fandom, too much drama omg so much drama !
Nothing is really explained... their relationship is very weird...
I didn't like Gena's poetry at all... I'm not a huge poetry fan but I didn't get it.
If you want a cute LGBT book skip this one.

I was definitely expecting more romance, but this book was still pretty cute. I had trouble with the mixed media format at first, but it got more used to it as I went through the book. I want a huge fan of the ending, but it was a fun read anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This was not what I expected. Even after reading multiple reviews that said "this was not what I expected."
The portrayal of fandom is perfect. The fanfiction reads like fanfiction, which is not a judgement on its quality, but a comment on its style. The blog comments use language you use in blog comments. Most importantly, the online friendship started as awkwardly as online friendships start, then developed into something really strong. This was my world as a teenager, and this story made me miss it.
The latter half of the book...I don't know what to think of it. It may have been a little much, but there were still some beautiful moments. But I definitely understand why reviews are mixed.

Unique format for a book: it consists solely of blog posts, text messages, emails, and journal entries. It reminded me a lot of when I was that age, since I had many internet friends across the country and we would communicate in the same ways.
While reading, I felt like I was eavesdropping on their conversations, which was an interesting way to consume a book. If it wasn't written down, you, as the reader, didn't experience it, which did get frustrating at times, because sometimes I felt like I was missing out. The book started out light-hearted and fluffy, and eventually got heavier and darker, which is when I started feeling more for the characters. However, it felt like more aspects of the plot and characters could have/should have been investigated. I'd be curious to see a sequel though.

OMG THIS BOOK HAD KILLED MY SOUL
Yes, I do wish that Gena and Finn had ended up together but that doesn't matter.
I went into this book not knowing too much and honestly, I think that's the best way because stuff happened that I was not expecting and it involved things that were a nice surprise.

I thought this would be a cutesy novel about fandom and confusing feelings and possibly a girl/girl romance. There's certainly a lot of fandom and confusing feelings, but not in a good way. Hated the huge "plot twist." Hated the "resolution." Overall the whole second half was not what I thought I'd be signing up for and I was really disappointed and upset by the end of it. Really liked the first half and the original premise, but as it is I would not recommend this book to anyone.

I still have no words to describe my feelings about this book, but that's the thing.... this book needs to be felt. And that can only happen by reading it.
