I was absolutely loving this until about three quarters of the way through, when things took a turn. I was expecting a fluffy friendship and maybe love story, and while the first half of the book was just that, that isn't what we got in the second half. This is absolutely just a personal preference of mine because I'm typically not a big fan of "feels" books. It's not a critique of the book itself, just something that I don't personally particularly enjoy from books. That's also why I dropped it down to 3 stars.
I really hated the way it ended. I felt let down after I got so invested in Gena and Finn's friendship and relationship. Knowing now how it ended, I wish there had been more of Charlie's character throughout the book. He was an important part of the last 50ish pages of the book, and I probably would have enjoyed it more if the author's had shown us more of his personality and POV throughout. I wasn't invested in him as a character at all because we'd been told so little about him, so for him to play such an important role in the end of the book left me a little bored and wanting more from the ending.

The first part was okay, overall it
made me feel like it was a fanfiction of a fanfiction. It does read fairly quickly, but there are a lot of pages that have half a page or less of writing.

I love this book. I love all of it, every awkward conversation and poignant email. I love the ways it intersects with my own best friendships, and the ways it diverges, and how both of those things make what's real and what's fictional so much more powerful.
I'm a long-time Hannah Moskowitz fan, and this is a really interesting look at fandom, and the transitions of late teens/early 20s life.
It gets dark though - but if you've read Moskowitz before that won't be a shock!

I liked the concept because I love reading about fandoms, internet friends and the like, but this book was trying to be both a) a fluffy cutesy romance and b) a deeply moving tale about unexpected events that happen in life and it JUST DIDN'T WORK for me.
I always enjoy books told in unique formats - this one wholly consists of emails, DMs, blog posts and notes between the characters and their friends. That made this a quick read, which was nice. I really liked the first half of the book that set up both characters' lives and their online friendship. I liked Gena and Finn as friends but I saw no romantic chemistry between them and thought that subplot came out of nowhere. In the second half of the story, there was way too much happening, none of it was being explained well and it was all over the place. That was where the format of the book started to fail the story because it's hard to see what's going through a character's mind. Even when they write terrible poetry.
All in all, this story had so much potential but it severely let me down. I would not recommend.

This book was NOTHING I thought it would be. I usually love books about fandom but not this one !
It made no sense... too fast friendship, too much fandom, too much drama omg so much drama !
Nothing is really explained... their relationship is very weird...
I didn't like Gena's poetry at all... I'm not a huge poetry fan but I didn't get it.
If you want a cute LGBT book skip this one.
