Fifth Soul by Arizona Tape and Laura Greenwood is a slow burn reverse harem paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Susan Greenway.

I absolutely love Arizona and Laura’s books! Their books usually leave me with a smile on my face. I really enjoyed the slow burn relationship between Lola and her four mates. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series Fifth Round to get more of their story.

Susan did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you love paranormal romances, reverse harems, or slow burn romances.

Couldn't finish this book. The writing style wasn't for me. Not much depth to the characters. Everything felt rushed.

A interesting dynamic. A female with mixed gender mates, in this case 3 males and another female. I've wondered about this dynamic, and wondered why there are so many harem books out there that are all one female and multiple males in "fated" mates, and thought it would be an interesting dynamic if one or more of the "fated" mates were the same gender as the MC. In this instance the mated female is gay, so that she has no desire for the other males in the bond. I know that a lot of the books have the MM parings in the mates, but how would a female main character handle having a FM paring in her mates, could she realize that they all belong to her and be happy with the paring. It would be an interesting character study.

First of all, the cover is gorgeous! I absolutely love it! This story was so amazing. I was instantly drawn into the world and wanted to just stay there. There are dragons and online games. Where could one go wrong? I didn't want to come out of the world quite frankly. My only critique is that it was too short! I know there are a few other books in the series, but still. I also wish the whole dragon heritage was explained in more detail. But maybe it will in the next books.

The characters were pretty amazing. I feel like I got to know Lola and Rachel the most in the book, but I have a strong feeling I'll get to know the three men as the series progresses. I totally ship Lola and Rachel though. It was so beautiful. I want a relationship like that. The closeness of best friends and the love of lovers! Where can you go wrong?

The narrator was pretty fantastic as well. The accent was so adorable. I'm not sure if I've listened to other books by her in the past, but I can assure you that I plan to listen to more. Not including the next two for this book. She has a lot of talent. I could see her becoming one of my top favorites.

There's a chance that I'll eventually feel that maybe all three of these books could have been condensed into one books. That won't happen until after I've read all three books. Either way, the story is wonderful. I have loved it from the first page! Can't wait to read more.

I wish this was longer than three hours! I wasn't expecting to laugh as much as I did, but there was unexpected humor. There were a few times I had to play parts back because I laughed through it. The narration was awesome, and the story left me wanting more. I didn't know what to expect, but I wasn't disappointed!

This was a cute book. The drunken scene especially was funny. I just wish the characters had a more in depth interaction.

This is a great story showing the development of friendship to love, along with predestined love being rejected with a twist...
Will Lola choose her mates - Hector, Martin & Todd?
Will she choose Rachel?
Or can Lola have them all?

Fifth Soul is set in the same world as the Twin Souls series, but it’s not required to be read before reading Fifth Soul. But if you want more dragon shifters, is definitely recommend going back to read them.

I love little reference to the anthology that the book was originally released in, by calling the tournament that Lola is competing in Realms&Rebels.

I loved this. Lola was fantastic and I love her men and Rachel. There was a lot of humour within this book, I laughed out loud at parts. It moved along quickly and kept me hooked with the banter and sweet romance.

I listened to the audio version. I love Susan Greenway's voice and she did a good job portraying Lola and Rachel. Her male voices weren't as strong though. Overall, I enjoyed her narration.

A light and short book. The “fated mates” thing acts as a crutch to have Lola and Rachel move in with the guys, saving up on actual relationship building – which does happen later, but I admit it doesn’t feel like enough. Besides Rachel, none of Lola’s interactions with her mates feel anywhere near romantic enough to justify an eternal bond. Fingers crossed the next book improves on this.

The narrator’s delivery was distractingly flat. There was no attempt to give any of the characters a distinctive voice, which made some scenes confusing since everyone sounds the same. For example, there’s a scene where Lola’s drunk and searching for Rachel – but because everyone sounds the same, I wasn’t sure she had found Rachel or had drunkenly mistaken a guy for her. I can’t say it was a bad narration, but I’d be lying if I said I enjoyed it, either. But like the plot, I am hoping this, too, improves with the next book.
