3.5 stars! Friends to lovers isn't my favorite romantic trope (which is extremely ironic given my current life), but I liked this one! Maybe it was because the two main characters weren't really close friends to begin with? In any case, I thought this story was really cute and the humor was excellent. I loved Written in the Stars (minus all the "licking of the lips" references), so I was excited to read this second book in the series. I look forward to the third, which I suspect will be about Margot...

Yes. YES. YES! A thousand gazillion times yes!
I really liked Written in the Stars, but OH MY GOSH. Hang the Moon is SO GOOD. I was obsessed with the instant chemistry, especially when I didn't think Brendon was that swoon-worthy in WitS! Annie is also really fantastic and the two together? Chef's kiss.

Compared to the first book in the series, this one fell a bit flat for me. I liked the two main characters and felt they had chemistry but it felt extra contrived. Usually both characters have something they need to "work on" and Brendan didn't really change. There was very little steam too IMO. I'm waiting to read #3 which also has queer MCs like the first one and I'm hoping it's better.

Cute and wholesome with a sprinkle of unrealistic. Basically a romcom book. Brendon was sunny and romantic while Annie was a bit of a cynic. But the plot was quick and cute so enjoyable overall.
