Honestly kinda boring. I don't get the plot. I don't care for it. And it could be like half the length and be fine

The absurdity at times is very funny. But in the long form it gets sorta repetitive. One of the best novels of the last century. Eh. Probably a little overrated in that vein.

I don't know how to rate this. When I read this at 18 I loved it. I decided to reread it now and I couldn't finish. Every scene felt like an SNL skit that just went on too long. It's not that I didn't appreciate the humor - it's that I felt like I was being beaten over the head with it.

This was a bit difficult for me to read simply because I'm smart enough to know there were jokes I wasn't understanding. The time gap made it hard for me. However, I never laughed so hard or related so hard as I did in so many moments while reading this. It's a book I would only recommend to my friends or family who are genuinely intelligent.

The more I think about this book, the more I feel like I enjoyed it. While reading this book, I was so annoyed. The narration jumped around and you jumped back and forth in time, but you never knew if you were reading in the past, present, or future (you didn't even really know what the "present" was). The characters also just annoyed me.
However, since being away from this book for a few months, I've now realized that not only do i hate this book, but it's the type of book that I love to hate. Yes, it frustrated me and I was confused through a lot of it, but it was also extremely funny sometimes. The whole story was crazy and chaotic and just out-right ridiculous, which was what made it funny. It walked the line between stupid and funny, which is not something that I usually like because I often resort to feeling as if it's stupid.
I still get mad about this book when I think about it, but I honestly cannot describe this story; you just have to experience to understand.
