This was such a difficult book to review because each of the short stories ends with a "go to the website / use the password" comment. So while each of the stories was the start of something creepy, the reading experience got interrupted as I put down the book, picked up my laptop and found out how each ended. And then had to remind myself that there was more to be read... go back to the book... etc.

The stories are creepy and I think those readers looking for something in the "short and shivery" category will enjoy them; whether or not they'll appreciate the breaking of the narrative flow is another question.

Such a cool idea!! Short scary stories where you watch the ending. Very cool. My students LOVE THESE! Very fun as read alouds.

I think this set of stories will be better for the backchannel read aloud than Skeleton Creek was. My students liked Skeleton Creek, but only reading aloud once a week wasn't enough to get through the entire book. And they were really only interested in the videos. I do like how he integrated a story about Skeleton Creek, providing both insights into that story and insights into the narrator of this one. It makes me want to go back to The Raven and find out what happened at the end (mainly because I don't remember) so I can put this set of stories in the timeline.

Not as much fun as the Skeleton Creek series, but would still appeal to kids who enjoy the multimedia experience of the stories.

Just. Plain. Awesome.
Even though I'm too old for the stories, some of the endings gave me a fast heartbeat. Lol. :)))
