This one didn't quite keep my attention and I'll be honest I don't really remember a lot besides
Jack and Jill switching bodies multiple times?

I really like Jack and Jill's storyline so I'm glad we got a return to it, even though I don't know if it was 100% merited. I think I enjoy the origin stories more than I do the romps with the whole cast of characters, and I would have rather had Kade's or Christopher's origin story than to go back to the Moors. There's also the issue of the corny and unnatural dialogue that I bring up in every review; I'm mostly used to it by now, but every now and then there's a particularly cringy line that throws me off.

I enjoy that these are nice, easy reads for me to knock out on my commute to and from work, and I always like when McGuire does the narration for her own books. I don't find myself getting bored or not wanting to continue this series. I love that these are standalones within the same world so it feels like a fresh slate every time I start a new one.

Group story wrapping up Jack & Jill's tale! Lots of character development! What makes a monster?? Maybe I teared up!! Who knows??

Another one that wasn't really high up there on my favorites from this series. I liked getting to revisit characters and to get a good conclusion to Jack & Jill's story, but I wasn't that invested in the storyline.

This was a good one! I definitely like the ensemble/school books in this series better than the door ones. They’re more fun and less moralistic. Loved revisiting Kade and Sumi and Christopher and even Cora. Kade deserves his own book! And Jack and Jill (and Alexis) and the Moors are super fascinating, so it was nice to revisit and resolve that whole arc.

I’ve heard mixed things about the next two books in the series, so I might wait for book eight to come out before I read any further.

I love this series and the themes it explores with each installment. This installment is about hero’s and monsters and revisits some of my favorite characters and my favorite world from the series so far so it was bound to be a hit for me. I’d read a whole novel set in the Moors.
