Overall, I would call this book okay. Just okay. I initially found the premise very intriguing, but I just couldn't get past the characters. Not a single character was likeable. I know that characters don't have to be likeable for a story to be good (and, obviously, the main character has gone through something insanely traumatic - she has more things to deal with than being likeable) but it didn't 100% work for me.

There are a couple "plot twists" but honestly, I found them to be obvious from the beginning (connected to unlikeable/suspicious  characters).

Despite some of my misgivings, the story was decent enough to see it through to the end. It kept my attention all the way through and was well-paced for most of the story, though the end felt a little rushed.

Let’s say this. Good concept, bad execution. Why did it take me 10 chapters to actually get some damn information. The intimacy scenes need to burn in hell… “if you liked gone girl you’ll like this” uhhhh Mr. King PUH-lease. I wish I could burn this from my memory

I picked up this book because I read "The Last Time I Lied" and I loved it. It is definitely one of my favorite books of all time. This one was good as well, but I definitely liked the other one better. It's still a great read and I still recommend reading it.

This book kept appearing on recommended lists, and since I do love a good horror film, I finally picked it up.

It started out well enough (as a food blogger, I could relate to Quincy's baking blog scenarios), and I really liked the premise, but then, nothing happened. The first 1/2 of the book was just way too slow for me. Sure, things happened, but the notable and important incidents were few and far between, spaced between a bunch of slow-paced filler moments and retelling of the past.

This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't really good either. The second half of the book did pick up, but by the time the action began, I was already suspicious of every single character that had ever been mentioned, so the "twist" of an ending didn't catch me by surprise. I just felt kind of let down, and it seemed like that direction had been taken just to be twisty, when in fact, it seemed kind of obvious.
