This was a great book for kids around middle-school aged. It was on our school's summer reading list, so I thought I'd have my almost 10-year-old read it (he's an advanced reader, but I think it was just fine for this age) and I read it along with him. The story was suspenseful and had good character development. I was also really pleasantly surprised that the book had a spiritual element to it, but was not overtly Christian in a way that would turn non-Christians off. It presented the question of why bad things happen to good people - a great discussion point to have with our kids - with no easy, pat answers given. Overall, a very good book.

Not my favorite book. It was alright. I guess I should have read a little of what it was about first...

This book just grabs you with its twisted plot. While reading it I had no idea where it me, but it stayed interesting the whole time. Another AMAZING book from Margaret Peterson Haddix! I would recommend this to anyone who loves suspense, 5-stars!!

the action starts on page one, and it doesn't end until, well...the end! We added this one to our literature circle options this year, and it was the number one title chosen. The length is just right, and the text is accessible for most with plenty to talk about in discussion, vocabulary, and word choice. We will definitely use this one again next year.

One of the books we have stocked in William's library. Interesting. This would have fascinated me in high school.
