Love this so much! Both the words and illustrations are simply beautiful. It had me asking Why-The- Hell- I- Haven't- Read- Any-Seuss- Before. In short, a very quick and heart-warming read, especially if you are a fresh graduate (from high school or uni, doesn't matter), this will relieve the stress (yes, I know you are stuck between choices and life paths) and exude such positive vibes. 5 stars without a doubt!

An unnamed protagonist sets off on an adventure: in the wide open air, through lurches and slumps, down scary roads, and through bright places. Throughout the story, the narrator provides inspiration and guidance in Seuss' quintessential rhythm and made-up words.

A classic choice for graduates (of all ages)!

Favorite Quote:
"It's opener there in the wide open air."

Classic. Equally as enjoyable in Spanish as it is in English.

A gift on my high school graduation from my English teacher... something I will always treasure.
Whenever I feel lost with what I want to do in my life I give this a re-read.

Certain parts will stay with you forever and will be something you can quote in fun and in sincerity when thinking about what to do.

It's books like this that help children figure out that reading is not just educational, it's fun.

Please, if you haven't read it, pick it up and give it a go.

A picture book speech to encourage the young graduate on his or her way.

My Take
It's a curious "graduation" speech, or rather the graphics on that first page spread are "curious" with their blank buildings, almost the way each person starts in life with a blank slate.

Seuss addresses the choices you'll make, the reasons for that. To move forward and embrace the possibilities. That you'll soar and be the best, or fall down with the best. That life has its ups and downs and so many choices to make.

The fears and jeers and applause.

It's a very balanced sort of "speech", as Seuss lays out the truth of those ups and downs with those inimitable graphics of his. Even the negative ones have a positive feel, that you can indeed get past those darks.

The Cover and Title
The cover is a soft rainbow swirl of pastels as bands of color form overlapping discs with the front disc swooping up into a hoodoo with a yellow jammy-clad lad teetering on top.

The title is all those possibilities for a graduate, Oh, the Places You'll Go! now that you're heading out.
