๐Ÿ’œ King of Pride ๐Ÿ’œ (Book 2 in the Kings of Sin series) by Ana Huang

This book had me hooked from chapter 1. I was already invested in Kai from book 1 so this being his book I was already fully in!

๐Ÿ’œ This book is complex in nature - how it weaves through who each character is and how their halves of each other truly complement the halves of the other.

๐Ÿ’œ Kai is infamous in his need to gather all of the accomplishments while Isabella is floundering to find just ONE. I loved how Kai was always seemingly the โ€œboringโ€ one while Isabella was the โ€œoutgoingโ€ one. Both were far from the truth. Itโ€™s beautiful how you find that people truly arenโ€™t who you think they are until you really get to know them.

๐Ÿ’œ Isabella isnโ€™t without faults but itโ€™s amazing how she grows. How her insecurities shape who she is and how her relationship with Kai progresses but also flounders in a way because she lets those insecurities take hold. It truly takes Kai believing in her when she didnโ€™t believe in herself to bring her out of her slump.

๐Ÿ’œ Overall - I enjoyed how these two came together and the story had me laughing, kicking my feet, and being heartbroken in some moments as well. Plus the twists and turns you learn through the book make it all the more worth it.

I was really excited for this book as i enjoyed their chemistry in the last book. But this was just not good :( their relationship seemed rushed, the plot was confusing and it got so boring towards the middle of the book. I was really routine for Isabella and Kai but they just didnโ€™t do it for me.

Also, I got confused on what Dominic did. I guess i missed what happened, but i am excited to read about Dominic and Alessandra!
