This book is written from the perspective of a mom who is Indian explaining some of the basic facts of being brown in the US. Interjected are flashbacks to her own story growing up. It is set during the time period of 2008-2016 for the present day and covers the elections. It is touching and very well done. It is done in conversations. The graphic memoir format was distinctive since many of the backgrounds were photographs and the people were cutouts placed on the background and it looked like a collage. It made for a great reading experience.

Genuinely sad and funny, a tricky combo that I happen to love.
