In this bittersweet story, a boy finds an orphaned fawn in the woods and brings her home to care for her until she's strong enough to go back to the wild. Saying goodbye is hard, and the boy worries that the fawn isn't strong enough to be on her own, but then something happens that lets him know she'll be alright. The text has a dreamy flow, and the soft, lovely illustrations blend nicely with the words. An engaging book!
