I enjoyed Saffron’s side of the story... but Gherard’s seemed a bit pointless. He doesn’t really do anything to contrast nazism or help someone else. He just go to a concentration camp on principle. I wished his path had been more developed, like he should’ve created a network to save jews or became a spy, something like that. Also did Konrad really get away scott free? Is there another book coming after? ps. Danny’s death was a bit of a narrative cop out.
