This was an absurd book that I didn't expect to like. However, I really ended up falling in love with the kids and even the protagonist. It was actually a really decent read.

Updating my review from 4 to 5 stars. I just finished a second read of the book for Book Club and it was even better the second time around. It hit me differently than it did just a few months ago. My book club loved it too and were surprised because yes, the plot sounds soooo weird, but it is phenomenal. Read it.
