this collection of poems made me fall in love again with poetry. each piece is dedicated to a bird you can find in the philippines and each piece is written in a certain verse form. you have well known forms like haikus, villanelles, sestinas, and sonnets and at the same time, the collection introduces readers to verse forms they might be unfamiliar with. i love how diverse the book is not just in its form of poetry but also in the various species of birds it speaks of. do u ever just... well... love birds because i do
not all the poems were my favorite. it was a hit or miss but the collection was such a learning experience as a writer and poet and as somebody who wants to learn more about the nature you see here at home. it teaches readers about the birds, the verse forms, wordplay, and how you can bring such beauty to the page
i definitely recommend this, especially if you want to introduce yourself to new styles of writing and if you want to gain more knowledge about life and how precious it can be.
