I was ready to give this a solid 4 stars but the amount it’s made me think about it long after completing it means that its content sticks with you. There’s some significant “advice” for the future that gets squished in at the end and does not get fully unpacked or explored as it could be but the rest is just so interesting to hear about things for the first time.

A surprisingly refreshing approach to the industry of death - or death in general. The author alternates between her personal experience in a crematorium and essays about certain aspects of death ; which I loved but I was hoping for more anecdotes on her actual job.
