this is the craziest book i have ever read. i really enjoyed it. the part about antoine was so so so super sad. i just dk if the author wrote this thinking sooo true! or if they wrote it to make a point that is pro gay people because the end of this book is really grim and unsatisfying

I was going to give this 5/5 stars, but the ending made me change my mind. I enjoyed the beginning a lot more than the second half of the book.

Chapters 1 and 2 are interesting, but I would say don't bother with the rest of the collection.

Loved the artwork; the first story was good but the rest felt uneven and like it just petered out.

The complete set consists of 4 volumes but there are 2 overarching stories. The first one is where Blanche, a maidservant working for an old rich lady went undercover in a brothel to investigate her sister, Agatha's death. The police confirmed it was a suicide but Blanche knew it was not. With a serial killer on the loose, things get really complicated when there is more than one candidate for the suspect. The second one is more of romance after the investigation concluded.
Overall, it's okay. However, since I was expecting more of a murder mystery, when the first arc was done, it felt like the things went downward. The ending was a bit of a twist which I was expecting halfway through the second part.
