Not as gripping as the first two books. May try again when fourth book is finally released.

Loved the pairing but wish it was shorter

3.5 stars but rounding up to 4 because I do really love this world and Draven’s characters. I was really looking forward to Anhuset and Sevorek’s story (love me a badass female warrior), but the pace of this book almost made me drop it a few times, which was surprising after I tore through Radiance.

There’s a lot of rehashing not only of the previous books but also of things that just happened on the page a couple chapters ago. The former I understand to an extent, as it reminds readers returning the to series what has happened (while I read all the books and novellas back to back). But the latter made it hard to keep going and I found myself skimming through a lot of both the beginning and the end, which was a bummer. While the romance is nice, it also felt like it was missing some of the build up that made Brishen and Ildiko’s relationship so fun to follow.

I’m still really engaged in the world, and this book did do a good job of teeing up future threats and plot lines. But I don’t know if I’ll be revisiting this installment again.

The summary tells you the last third of the book. Romance was an annoyance to love which was awesome. There's action, some backstabbing and political foolery. Also some consequences from the previous book. Can't wait for the sequel.

Love book 3 as much as I love the other two. The romance that develops between Anhuset and Serovek makes me kick my feet with glee. Their fierce loyalty displayed in this book is a treat and I just really love them. This is my second time reading this series and it still makes me sad reaching the end because I just love these books so much.

4.5/5 - I adore this world and everything that comes with it! The spice is spot on and the action pulls me in even further. I cannot wait for the fourth book to come out! One thing I like most about Draven’s writing is that, even with a long break between book 2 and 3, she does a great job of reminding me of what happened in the previous book without over explaining.

I enjoyed the characters but I feel like I needed a bit more romance. Overall enjoyed her story telling but it moved a bit slow for me. I feel like some of the plot could of developed our characters a bit more.

Love love loved this perfectly balanced, sweet and ferocious couple, the strong FMC and cheeky MMC is my favourite. The plot and action kept it so interesting and just great overall! A couple loose ends that left me unsatisfied but I know there’s another one coming
