Great start to this series, but I do feel a little bit lost in this world. (There’s already many books by this author in this universe, so there’s not a ton of description about that.)

The lead characters were interesting, if not a little uncommunicative. I liked the strong heroine and her group of friends. I liked that she could get herself (and the hero) out of the situations they found themselves in. Great chemistry between them and no annoying flaws that I can remember!

I anticipate that the next books in the series will be just as good, and I’m interested in those characters based on what we’ve seen so far (chemist/loves explosives, etc.).

Bombshell was a wonderful read. The prologue had me engaged me immediately.
I really liked Sesily and Caleb. In particular, Sesily was the star of the show for me. The dynamic between her and Caleb was also alternatively steamy and sweet with so many layers to unearth along the way. I was so invested in every step of their relationship.
There was never a dull moment throughout this story with witty dialogue, an interesting plot - what more could a reader want in an historical romance. I so want to read the next book in the saga of the Hell's Belles Series.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for an honest review.

Fun! Since I'm not an avid reader of historical romance, I didn't get hung up on the many anachronisms here and simply enjoyed the ride that the story provides. Sesily is an enjoyable central character with an abundance of brains, beauty and sass, and her chemistry with Caleb positively sizzles, leading to many memorable interactions and scenes. After a while I began to tire of the way that their romance fell into a repetitive pattern of Caleb disappearing once he and Sesily started to become closer, but the reveal of his secret shed welcome light on why this was necessary, even if his penchant for acting as a martyr to keep others from harm became annoying. I enjoyed this group of badass women teaming up to take down nefarious men, even if they are clearly modeled on a combination of Charlie's Angels and The A-Team; there is even a line of dialogue late in the book very similar to the latter's memorable "I love it when a plan comes together." Given the seeds planted for future installments, I wouldn't mind continuing on with this series.

Random note: Mary Jane Wells does an amazing job narrating the audiobook, switching seamlessly between British and American accents and using distinct vocal tones and inflections to capture the essence of both Sesily and Caleb. However, I've clearly been spoiled by dual and duet narration because it's always a disappointment when stories with multiple perspectives have only one narrator.

Fun read, but (like most of SM's books) about 20% too long.
