i love this series. the characters are so distinct and loveable. i also adore how this book was written. just as easy to follow and fall in love with as the first yet much more personal. i laughed and cried out loud reading this one– definitely a favourite.

I am a big fan of the first book and the second one cannot keep up to it.
While it conveys a similar atmosphere as the first one, the stories are way more episodic and connected via the medium "tales told in Kamusari" than actual plot or character development.
I really wished it would have leaned more into the episodic tale telling or included more plot.
The romance plot from the first was picked up put lacking on the aspect of charater development.
Why still four stars? Because it delivers on the atmosphese and pulled me back in immideatly.
A fast read I most likely will pick up again when reading the first one.
