Since this book is four plays here are the individual ratings

Medea: 5
No notes

Hecabe: 3.5
Just solid nothing special but loved the portrayal of the Trojans post Iliad (a perspective not offered very much by Homer)

Electra: 4.5
Would’ve been a 5 if they just ended it before the Dioscori come, it would’ve been a perfect suspenseful ending

Heracles: 2.5
Wtf Euripedes

All four of these plays expertly convey the tragedy of killing a family member. The stories told were complex and interesting while the translation was a joy to read.

My favorites were Medea and Hecuba.
