Elvis Cole and Joe Pike, one of the greatest pair of characters ever put together. Crais is awesome, every time!!
Must read this!!

This is one of those books (I’ve read two of them this month) that starts out as a mystery, but by the midpoint, the mystery has been solved and the whole second half is just an action movie. That’s not my favorite kind of mystery.

I always enjoy these books, and this one was no exception. Great storyline, beloved characters, and believable action and settings.

A good, quick read. The first one in the series that I've read. I liked the characters.

As always, Robert Crais books are worth the wait. This one is a little more Joe Pike focused, so it's a little more serious, but Elvis and Joe are so good working together. Joe kinda gets involved by accident in this one with a bank teller, but as always, the guys protect the innocent and take care of the bad guys.

Entertaining and attention-holding, but not IMHO not as good as his previous Cole or Pike books in the series. One of the reasons I keep coming back to them is the dialogue and the action, and neither were as consistent or as involved as has been true in past books. But the plot was interesting.

Excellent as always! My only criticism is that this was too short. Only 244 pages and as hard as I tried to make it last longer since I really wanted to savor a new Elvis Cole/Joe Pike story, the story was over way too fast.

A well written lean thriller, though I miss Elvis' first person narration and wish there was a bit more character development and bit less action.

Second crime novel I've enjoyed in a row! An entertaining plot and characters and I'm intrigued enough to read more books in the series, after this engaging one. Not sure if I want to start from the beginning or jump around in the series
