This is different from any of this author's books, I feel. Although it says it in the blurb, I didn't expect elementals, but it's growing on me. I didn't really like how this book started but by the end I was interested.

Honestly just super cringe. I liked where it seemed to be going but I couldn't get back how horrible the dialouge and the characters seemed to be there was a lot of showing instead of telling too.

This book followed a pretty standard formula for these fantasy academy books. It was fine. I'll read the next one but I wouldn't re-read this one.
