Calling all rodent lovers who adored “Ratatouille” and devoured “The Rats of Nimh” series. This is for you! Spies, potentially ravenous dogs, humans who are up to no good, and rats getting into adventures on the high seas. Preen and her rat friends have a few humans they know they can trust, but when a merchant books passage with the East India Company, things get crazy. First there’s the huge slobbering dog. Then the fact that the ship’s new passenger, “the merchant” wants to keep Preen as a pet. Which, might be okay? Maybe being a pet has its perks? But can he really be trusted?

Wonderfully detailed with all the ins and outs of life onboard a ship—you can taste the salt air and imagine running up the ropes as a rat! And as the rats encounter mysterious saucers and smell things burning in the night, this churns towards an exciting end. Fun and fast-paced. Perfect for animal lovers!
